Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Weekend Workshop

For anyone interested NH Fish and Game is taking sign-ups for their Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Fall Workshop. It's a weekend long adventure that takes place Sept 7-9, 2018. The fee for the weekend is $335 and that includes lodging for the weekend plus meals.

Participants can select four sessions from more than 30 different outdoor skills workshops, including archery, fishing, fly fishing, camping, field dressing game, hiking, kayaking, rifle, shotgun, nature photography, outdoor survival, campfire cooking, mountain  biking, map and compass, and more. So if you've ever wanted to try some of these activities and have been nervous about doing it, now's the time.

My First Turkey!!

So the story of my first turkey started back in April. I signed up for a turkey hunting class through NH Fish and Game and the National Wild Turkey Federation. The class was awesome! The class was held by the Raymond Baptist Church Outdoor Club and they provided an amazing lunch of pulled pork sandwiches. I've heard they have a wild game dinner that is really great too! We were given a crow call, turkey slate call, and a mouth call. They also brought us out to the Raymond Sportsman's Club  to pattern in our shotguns. This was a big help since I had just put a BlackMaxx choke on my Mossberg 500 and it was shooting high. We were even shown how to field dress a turkey. Women Only Hunter Safety Field Day

New Hampshire Fish and Game will be offering a field day for women only . This is only for women who have completed the online or classroom portion of the hunter safety course. It will be July 29th from 9 am to 3 pm at the Owl Brook Education Center in Holderness.
